Excursion - Discover Riga
On August 31,
after closing the conference, we offer a guided tour, during
which you will be able to learn more about Riga, its
history, architecture, viewing our beautiful city from both land and water.
During the 2 hour walking
tour, you will discover the most important and outstanding places in Riga - the
capital of Latvia and the largest city of the Baltic Countries founded in 1201
by a German bishop. Riga’s rich cultural heritage comprises the Old Town with its medieval churches and Guilds,
the famous House of the Blackheads and the Town Hall, the House of the Black Cat and Riga Castle, Three Brothers and many more architectural treasures. We will walk through smaller streets and
squares to the canal, to appreciate the historical centre. Riga is also a home to
more than 700 Art Nouveau buildings, all built during the first
quarter of the 20th century. So, we will cross a beautiful park and view
the most renowned Art
Nouveau facades in the city.
After
the walking tour, we will continue on a boat going
along the canal and then the river Daugava, to admire the city from a different perspective.
